Now in its seventh year of operation, Monitise has live mobile banking operations in both the UK and the US; with further business developments being progressed across other regions (India, Africa and Asia Pacific).
Monitise has Alliance Agreements in place with Visa Inc and Visa EU, where Monitise has been contracted to act as their principle partner to ‘mobilize’ Visa’s services. Work is also progressing to expand into the retail environment through the foundation of the Mobile Money Network with Best Buy Europe Plc and Travelex.
We are now looking for a Release Test Manager within Transition. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of Regression and User Acceptance testing of a range of mobile products.
The monitise transition team is undergoing change, as the Test Manager you will be responsible for managing test activities by liaising with business and development teams, analysing business requirements and reviewing design documents to formulate testing needs to ensure the system being developed meets business requirements. Also, responsible for ensuring all Test Leads prepare test strategy documents covering test objectives, scope, environment prerequisites, deliverables, roles and responsibilities, schedules, risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies for their respective Geographies/Strategic customers. You will ensure that the Test Leads and teams write the requirements, conditions and scripts for the testing they will undertake on the project, making sure that traceability is incorporated into this exercise, so that it can be proven that all requirements are met and mapped back. You will be responsible for collating and issuing reports on testing progress, RAG status and the status of defects across key/strategic customers. Also responsible for ensuring test summary reports are produced and reviewed by all Test Leads.
You will ensure that the appropriate Research & Development and Systems Test teams are made aware of the timescales when applications need to be made available for regression testing, and working closely with the Transition Managers and Test Leads ensure that test environments are set-up/appropriately linked to each other and are managed under strict configuration and change management guidelines. You will be able to ensure Team Leads are escalating in a timely fashion upwards to you to allow you escalate further upwards if need be.
You will be responsible for setting testing standards and documenting the process for regression testing, responsible for ensuring Test Leads and analysts are following these standards consistently and also responsible for the continuous improvement of testing process and standards on an ongoing basis. You will have responsibility for ensuring test schedules are created by Test Leads for incorporation into the overall Transition plan.
You will be a team player as well as a firm but fair and courteous leader able to motivate and lead the team effectively. You will be responsible for regression test resource management across key/strategic customers ensuring the team is working efficiently at all times
Responsible for ensuring each Test Lead has a set of defined Tests that is run on reference and staging environments at the point of handover to testing for each region in order to confirm the environment is fit for purpose
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Although the scope and focus of the day to day activities within the role will change dependent on business requirements, the following should be considered the core accountable activities:
- Responsible for reviewing requirement and technical specifications and reviewing release test plans.
- Work closely with internal teams and external vendors to accept work items from system testing.
- Work closely with the release manager and release test lead to execute release test plans.
- Review and resolve defects with the relevant parties, ensuring re-testing and closure.
- Coordinate and where necessary perform functional and non functional testing including integration testing.
- Work closely with external vendors to ensure continuous improvement in team performance and management.
- Provide analysis during forecasting and resourcing of upcoming projects.
- Provide assistance to internal and external operational staff in the performance of Operational Acceptance testing.
- Technical testing of applications and infrastructure, including J2ME, Oracle, Sun and Apache technologies.
- Certification testing. Working with external parties to ensure that products adhere to certifiable standards.
- Co-ordinate with technical and non-technical teams within Monitise and third parties in agreeing test plans, data, tools, resources and timescales, with reporting on the results of such agreements.
- Raise and escalate risks as required, resolve risks escalated from the Transition test team.
